Then I had no idea just asked help via yahoo. I searched the answer and got that I only need to buy one from the site. I had no other solution but just to have a try. Surprise happened! Within the 20 minutes after I placed the order, the email with the genuine product key was sent to me. I immediately had my system activated!
The whole process is much easier and more convenient than I thought before.
Yes, there is a perpetual license version of “Lightroom CC 2015” available. Unsurprisingly Adobe named it “Lightroom 6.” The names are different, but the two are largely the same except that the non-CC (aka “perpetual”) version does not provide access to. Adobe is marketing the cloud subscription model with all its might so you may find it difficult to locate any mention of the perpetual version, but it does exist. I’ll put up a direct link as soon as I have one, but for now Go to, scroll all the way to the bottom, and look for the “buy now” button in the box for Lightroom 6 Standalone. You can also try using, which will add one copy directly to your shopping cart.
In either case, it will default to the full version with a price (as of this moment) of $149.00. Once it’s in your cart, you can click the “Edit” button in the upper right to change it to an upgrade version for $79.00.
Upgrade pricing is available to anyone who owns any version of Lightroom 1 through 5. These links are only for Adobe’s “ESD” (Electronic Software Download) version, which lets you download the installer online, but does not include physical media. Edit 1: Some have noticed that you won’t see the option to buy the perpetual version if you are logged into your Adobe account. Try logging out and then reloading the. To clarify, this page will not show you the Buy Now option if you are logged into an Adobe account.
Edit 2: After changing from the Full version to the Upgrade version, you’ll need to tell it which version you currently own before you’ll see the lower price reflected in the shopping cart. Edit 3: The link for a. I’m not UK based, but I hope this helps.
Thanks to for the link. If you take regular advantage of both Lightroom and Photoshop upgrades, you may save some money by subscribing to the plan. My understanding is that this is normal. When Lightroom sees that you have the CC utility installed, regardless of how you downloaded it, it will brand itself as Lightroom CC and automatically enable the mobile functions. This has created some confusion for users who have a CC licensed application (say Illustrator) and also a perpetual license of Lightroom.
I’m still waiting on clarification from Adobe on what’s happening in this case. (Did LR “convert” to a CC license and will it need to phone home every 99 days, or is it still behaving like a perpetual license?) Unfortunately I don’t have a firm answer for you just yet, but unless you’re planning to be in the Arctic without internet for an extended period of time, you’ll probably be ok either way. A little clarification: The Lightroom trial is.always. the CC version, no matter how you acquired the installer. It only allows you to convert it to a perpetual license after the trial is up, and it fails to find either a full or photographer CC subscription. Both checks must fail before Lightroom will even show you an option to enter a serial number.
For most folks this won’t matter. The edge cases that might goof up a few folks are those who have a perpetual license for use on a 3rd system which happens to have the CC utility installed. Thanks, to clarify what I did was actually purchase the LR6 upgrade, I didn’t get a trial installer. That’s why I was a little surprised that it did switch to CC in the launch. I am always connected on this machine, so it may be difficult to figure out what LR behaves like now in my case. I may try a LR6 install on a virtual just to see if I can figure out how it looks differently than the subscription install. But that’s just playing, not really a concern for my real workflow.

Full Disclosure. I am neither paid nor endorsed by Adobe. The value I receive from my involvement with their dev teams is that in some small way, I get to influence applications that I use every single day. In the long run, this saves me time, makes my life easier, and hopefully benefits others using the applications the same way I am. Also, I get to meet some really cool people. Even though I am not paid, occasionally Adobe may see fit to gift me a few months free on my paid Adobe Creative Cloud membership.

Often this happens after I track down some particularly squirrely bug, which takes an enormous amount of time and documentation. Because of this occasional benefit and my personal relationships, I stick to creating damn good how-to content rather than purely journalistic Adobe product reviews. Oh yeah, Adobe has also given me Lightroom socks. No, you may not have them.
